I'm pretty sure that everybody has heard about Urban Decay and their ever so famous Naked palettes, but it can be a little confusing to know which one to get, as they all look glorious. In this post I will be going through the four Naked Palettes (not including the basics).
The Naked 1 Palette
2 Mattes
2 Satin
5 Shimmers
2 Micro Glitters
1 Sparkle
Probably my favourite palette of the four, and the one that I recommend to everyone. This neutral palette features 12 shades of mainly matte and shimmers with plum, gold and brown shades that suit just about everybody.
From this palette you can create a darker smoky look suitable for a night out or a simple subtle look that would work for during the day.
As this palette contains a lot of bronze based shades it is especially flattering for blue and golden brown eyes. This palette contains a lot of warm shades so it is ideal for those of you who have warmer complexions, or yellow undertones. This palette is also stunning of those with cooler complexions too.
The Naked 2 Palette
3 Mattes
8 Shimmers
1 Micro-glitter
This is the first Naked palette that I bought and as I have gone on to buy the others, my love for this one has cooled, as I don't think it suits me as well as the other palettes do.
This palette has a taupe theme which means it doesn't cater to every skin tone like the previous palette, but if you have cooler toned skin then this palette will work wonders for you.
This palette is mostly shimmers with 8 out of the 12 shades being shimmers, so if you have a love of shimmers and a pink skin tone, then this palette is practically your best friend. However it can be a little tricky to get the colours to work well together, as you can end up with a blueish finish.
As this palette has a taupe theme it is ideal for those of you with cooler hazel or grey eyes. If you have a cooler complexion this palette will work for you, as the shades in the palette are cool toned. If you have a neutral complexion you could probably get away with this, but if you have a yellow toned complexion it may be best that you look at the other palettes.
The Naked 3 Palette

2 Shimmers
2 Metallic micro-glitters
1 Metallic with micro-sparkle
Like the Naked 2 Palette this one isn't as universally flattering as the first palette. As this palette contains mostly pinks and plum shades, there is a risk of creating a look that leaves the eyes looking sore, but this palette can be used to create some stunning looks.
This palette doesn't have that many dark shades, so it is ideal for light during the day looks. From the shades available it is possible to create a darker look, but I find it much easier to create a darker look with the Naked 1 Palette.
As this palette has a rose theme it is best suited for green eyes, and although the palette is quite warm toned it works well for those of you that have cooler skin tones too. If you have pink undertones or redness then I would give this palette a miss, as the pink shades will really bring out any pink in the skin.
The Smoky Palette

4 Matte
I have yet to test this palette fully, as I have mainly stuck to the lighter shades, as when I've needed to create a smoky look, I've not had enough time to play around with a new palette.
This palette leans towards the cooler toned shades with the mix of beige, black and grey tones, including nine completely new shades and three exclusives. As this palette has warm and cool toned shades, it means that all of the shades you would require for a smoky eye are all in one place.
Unlike the other palettes this one is organised by finishes, as the first four shades are shimmers, the next four are satin and the last four are matte.
I'd say this palette will suit a wide variety of skin tones due to the shades that are available, as there is a fair mix of cool tones and warm tones, so I feel like this palette will work for most people.
